January 4, 2010 - Wow! 2010! A new year, a new decade! It seems like just last year that we were worried about entering the 21st century! We are all now 10 years older,
and as I look back, I have also seen my children grow to their current ages of 24, 21, and 17! That is when we can admit time flies by! At this time of year,
we often reflect on the past year and determine if it was a great year or not! For most, hopefully, 2009 was a great year! For myself, 2009 brought tears of
sadness and grief of loss - my father and young niece died in February, with my father's funeral occuring on my birthday - February 14th! In 2009,
my husband battled a knee replacement, hip replacement and continues to battle through the pains of sciatica.
For myself, I wore many hats - business woman, wife, mom and full-time caregiver!
As I write this, my husband is just finishing his 4-week stay as a patient with our local Rehab hospital. He will be back home for good on January 6th.
I look forward to the promise of a better year with much less sadness!
In the upcoming spring, we will be on the move - selling our 4-bedroom 2-storey home, and downsizing to a bungalow - still, of course,
staying in Kitchener-Waterloo. I will keep you all posted!
To you all, may this this year, 2010, bring you good health, wealth and much happiness! May it be a great year for all!

September 29, 2009....It has been a while since I last inserted a blog note. I have been on vacation for 10 days to England in August and 3 days in New York City in September! This was respite time for me as, right now, more than ever, I value the importance of Disability Insurance, as I have been given an additional duty of almost full-time caregiving for my husband. He has been on disability insurance since 1997, and sick with a critical illness since 1995. 2009 has not been a good year for him, and the hospital, wheelchair, wheelchair ramp, and walker can attest to his current state. I have passion in protecting others..so please, if you know of anyone who is working and does not have disability insurance, I would be pleased to send some information their way. Here is hoping the rest of the year improves

It is hard to believe that the longest day of the year is the end of next week! That means we are halfway through the year - could it be that it is all downhill from here? I came across some information about the Tax-Free Savings Account, and wonder how many people have yet to get started. This is one savings tool that works best by starting over. It is not too late, though, and you can start for as little as $25/month. Think about how many years ahead - more money in this account - less money and taxes to the government in the future! Good deal! Best invention since RRSP's. If you have started your TFSA already, great! If not, I would be happy to direct you to the options that best suit your needs!

Welcome to my new website. I am thrilled with the new look and many thanks to my good friend, Doug for creating this interactive website! If you know anyone who is looking for website development, I know someone....Spring has sprung! This is my most favourite time of the year - green grass, blossom trees, colour everywhere! Not to mention, that the markets have improved in the last couple of months! Although the markets are fairly steady yet, and could see some more downtown over the next few months, overall, the stock market has been doing better than the free fall we experienced last Fall 2008.
I will attempt to get to my blog every week or so, so check back for interesting tidbits for savings ideas, beating debt and wealth notes.
As well on a monthly basis, check out my newsletter, and if you have not joined us yet, please jump on board and sign up for the newsletter!
I promise you won't be disappointed!
